Bears Walking, Pimples Popping, Oh My!

The night before Halloween, my dream brought images I had never seen before, scary and puzzling, culminating into normalcy.
‘Sitting with a friend, I notice out the front window, a vision of incredulous believability and I fear for us all!
A giant, black bear walks towards us, cradling the friend’s daughter in his huge, furry arms. Coming closer, a large pimple bursts atop her nose and pus trickles down her face. As unsettling as this scene appears, she seems calm in the bear’s arms.
I walk toward the outlandish creature, unsure what to expect and notice in my arms I now hold a green, gingham skirt. How odd!
Meeting the father of the young girl, I realize he now holds her, unharmed by the beast. And the beast is no more.
Seated in my father’s house, which ironically is about five miles from the earlier incident, I proceed to tell his wife, who is in poor health, the harrowing experience. (My father passed away November 3, 2024). Preparing to leave, a girls’ softball team practices in the field nearby.”
Waking up after such a dream left me feeling unsettled. Dissecting the significance of all shown me proves fruitful.
The names of the characters entering my dream proved quite comforting – “beauty, grace”; “a connection to nature and the Christian principles of service”; and “God will add, will increase, signifying growth and divinely favored. “Are you reminding me I am a child of yours, O Lord?
Dreaming of a friend occurs when “you are going through spiritual growth; could possibly indicate that you need a retreat for a while and be alone away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.” Searching deeper, I find the symbol “urges you to listen and follow your intuition.” Deep within me dwells Almighty God!
I am reminded of the transcribed words above as I learn the significance of a house appearing in my dream. The house references “transformation; your own spiritual growth and objectives.” The message shouts loud without saying one word. 2 Corinthians states, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (ESV).
Studying, delving deeper, I learn the house symbol means “person, family; ministry”, as well as representing “your own spiritual growth and objectives.” I understand. Keep my focus on you, Lord.
Finding someone else in the house signifies “this is the time to communicate with others”. And for this reason, I write.
Being in the living room suggests “you need to relax in life.” And I reflect on the true reason for this upcoming season.
A white house represents “new events spiritual and psychical; a renewal and healing in life.” My Father in heaven, please show me the way. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Dreaming of a window signifies “letting light in, spiritual sight, an opportunity (as in an “open window of opportunity”).
Interestingly and quite intriguing, the “front” direction denotes “the future; a prophecy of future events; immediate”. And I must admit the analysis concerns me since this dream contained a bear!
Dreaming of a bear symbolizes “judgment; opposition; an evil spirit that wants something you have.” My knees shake.
The enemy roams the earth seeking whom he may devour and each day I am reminded of this; therefore, I put on the full armor of God before leaving my humble abode. Repeating on the way to my car, I declare, “I am a child of the Most High God! No weapon formed against me shall stand!”
Another concern appears after learning the meaning of the creature’s color. Black denotes “mystery; death”. I must stand boldly, professing “I am covered by the blood!”
Continuing with my unraveling of this mysterious dream, the “nose” offers more insight. Spiritually, the nose signifies “discernment”. In the King James Bible Dictionary, “discern” means “to examine, prove or test, scrutinize.”
According to www.christianity.com, discernment is an “area where most Christians stumble. They are not prepared to strongly oppose the non-biblical thoughts and attitudes they encounter daily in pop culture with good judgment.” I pray God grants me wisdom and discernment as I continue this path.
The” pus” represents “a form of emotional or psychological cleansing, suggesting a purging of negativity; toxic situations being addressed.”
Not having the pimple on my face causes me to wonder if the significance centers on the friend’s daughter. This definition references the individual with the malady. What could it mean as a witness?
The green of the skirt, in my dream, symbolizes “growth and prosperity” A “gingham” pattern refers to “tradition; a desire for a more balanced, uncomplicated life.” When holding a skirt, this suggests “you are considering a particular style of fashion”. What is my subconscious trying to tell me?
Researching further, I find “holding a green gingham skirt “ symbolizes a “positive symbol” and suggests one is “embracing personal growth, harmony, and a desire for simplicity and structure in your feminine expression or domestic life” and these words rings true deep within me.
On this night, my dream of being at my father’s house and knowing he had already passed away, occurred for the first time. Many times, my dreams include him, alive, vibrant, being his usual happy self, and yet, this night as I slept, my heart knew he was gone.
To dream that you are returning to your dad’s home after his death, details “your mind’s way of processing grief. Your vivid dream can be comforting, a way to maintain connection as your mind processes the reality of loss.”
Visiting his wife, my stepmother for years before his death, reveals “your mind using dreams to work through sadness; finding emotional support and sharing grief with her.” A dream like this can happen at any time and “often when you need them the most, resulting in a beautiful way your spirit helps you heal.”
Thank you heavenly father – “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me, Galatians 2:20”.
The ending of this dream did not surprise me at all. My dad played baseball for his hometown team and even taught me to play softball, which I did in the same town for a summer league. The scene brought joy to my soul!
Dreaming of girls playing softball symbolizes “your feelings about work, family dynamics and the importance of cooperation.” Also, the game denotes “you are navigating a competitive situation or tackling obstacles in your waking life.”
And I must simply nod in total agreement.
